Hey there, faithful friends! Have you heard the latest buzz?

It’s time to dust off the pews and ring the church bells because Christmas services at England’s Cathedrals are packing the house!

According to a nifty little survey by the Times newspaper, there’s been a heavenly hike in attendance numbers. Forget those gloomy days when our beloved sanctuaries seemed quiet – we’re talking about a downright dramatic turnaround since the pre-pandemic days of 2019!

If you think this is just a flash in the pan, think again. Some of our grand old Cathedrals were bursting at the seams last December, with at least two turning folks away because they were just too popular.

Lichfield Cathedral’s Executive Director, Simon Warburton, is over the moon with a 10 percent attendance boost from 2019 and a whopping 20 percent jump from the previous year.

Why the sudden surge, you ask? Well, Warburton reckons people are craving a slice of stability in these topsy-turvy times, and what’s more solid than a Cathedral that’s stood the test of time?

And get this – the Dean of Lichfield, the Right Rev Jan McFarlane, said they might even need to double up on services next Christmas if this keeps up.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going… to church!
